About Me

I started reading when I was three and haven’t stopped since!  When I was a child, my parents had to put my bedside light on a timer or I would never go to sleep.  I still stay up too late reading, more often than I would like to admit.

After teaching in the classroom  for seven years, everything from Kindergarten to Grade 3, I found a position in 2014 as a teacher-librarian.  I feel very lucky to put my diploma to use and even more lucky to be able to stay at a school I had been teaching at for five years.  I have kept my alter ego -Ms. Collins- since that is how half my students know me,  even though I am officially Mrs. MacLeod.  Now, I divide my time between Confederation Park and University Highlands in Burnaby.  Any opinions expressed are my own, not that of the Burnaby School District.

If I’m not reading a novel or picture book, I am probably reading a cooking magazine or recipe book: I love cooking and baking.  When I can find the time, I also like to craft.  Knitting, crochet, cross stitch, watercolour, card making, I enjoy them all!  I also love to travel with my husband.  If we haven’t been anywhere recently, I’m probably dreaming up our next trip.
