Abstraction

A couple weeks ago we did an art lesson on abstraction.  It is an image development strategy in which you simplify an image by focusing on the basic shapes.  Students chose a calendar picture, then had to try to replicate it using paper collage.  They were challenged to only use circles, ovals, squares, rectangles, and triangles.  The art the created was amazing, so I have put together a slideshow showing their work.  If you would like a copy please leave a comment, or email me.  The student’s names are shown, so to protect their privacy I will only send it to members of our school community.  I can send it to you as a PowerPoint or a QuickTime movie.
